Privacy Policy

Cruise Control ("the extension") is a Chrome extension that automatically scrolls short-form videos on YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Facebook Reels.

Data We Collect

The extension collects and stores the following data locally on your device using chrome.storage.local:

• Your extension settings (scroll mode, timer duration, delay, opacity, etc.)
• Your license key (used to verify your Pro subscription)
• A randomly generated device identifier and Freemius install ID (used to validate your subscription status)
• Overlay button position

This data never leaves your device except as described below.

Data Shared With Third Parties

Freemius: When you subscribe to Cruise Control Pro, your payment and billing information is handled by Freemius (freemius.com), our payment processor and merchant of record. Please refer to Freemius's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your data.

License validation: When you activate or the extension validates your subscription, your license key, device identifier, and install ID are sent to our backend server (hosted on Vercel) solely to verify your subscription status with Freemius. No other data is transmitted.

Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect browsing history or track which videos you watch
• We do not use analytics or tracking scripts
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers
• We do not store any personal data on our servers beyond what Freemius provides

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your settings and license status locally
• tabs — to detect which platform you are on
• Host permissions (youtube.com, tiktok.com, instagram.com, facebook.com) — to run the autoscroll functionality on those pages
